The Shanghai Commute has come about because I have an hour and ten minute commute to work each morning and the ride home take anywhere between an hour and a half to two and a half hours. The traveling doesn’t bother me, but I realized how much time I was spending, really, doing nothing each day. I started writing down thoughts about a conversation a friend and I had about creating an international school while I was riding on the subway one day and I came up with the idea to write about my commute each day.
I live and work in Shanghai, China. That’s not a comment a lot of people get to make. This city is so exciting. I see new, amazing, ridiculous, intriguing, mind boggling, scenes everyday. I want to be able to portray what life is like in this neck of the woods.
